I'm you opinion whats the best IE album? You only get one choice, so make it count, and please give details why. (There might already be one thread on here, but now it has a poll... )
I'm going to say Horror Show. Matt Barlow was a his peak here, showing off intense vocals. I think the writing is supurb (eventhough Shaffer himself believes it was uninspired...) and all the musicians played extremeyl well. The only track on here I don't find amazing is Im-Ho-Tep, but all-in-all it's IE's most solid record. What do you guys think?
(by the way, I kept out "Days of Purgatory" and "Alive in Athens" to keep it between a battle of originals. I also had to put the last two together, because I didn't have anymore room. Plus it's kinda the same record... mabe .) _________________ Fuck the Patriots

NoTS, it's simply the best!
All that speed and aggression! Fucking Yeah!
I wouldn't mind if they did a tour with only a NoTS set.
Fuck Watching Over Me, fuck Burning Times (No disrespect to those songs!) and give us Mystical End and The Path I Choose!
I simply love the dark atmosphere and the power of the songs, the agression in Greely's voice and of course the guitar work, which is on this album absolute perfect.
clearly my fav from IE and imo one of the best metal albums out there

Fight on!
Grab on!
See, I would pick NOTS but the vocals hurt I think. The songs are amazing, but the siging is a little on the average side. _________________ Fuck the Patriots
self title album....Gene Adams can fucking wail! I'd love for IE to do a 20th anniversary tour of the S/T with all original members _________________

The storyline
Opening up with the memorable intro to the title track and chorus.
The birth of heavy yet melancholy for Iced Earth, I Died For You, to me had the most moving lyrics between the many ballads of similar style, such as Meloncholy and Watching Over Me.
The riffs from the melodic Hunter just shake me every time.
The Last Laugh is a straight up headbanger with a nice drum rhythm.
Depths of Hell is one of the closest songs to being doom metal that Iced Earth has ever done.
Vengeance is Mine is a real kicker, contrasting between the mellow vocals with screaming Vengeance is Mine!
Scarred may not be as memorable between such great tracks but it had a good end with the trade off vocals.
Slave to the Dark is one of my favorite songs. Its epicness shadows Scarred with the end of the intro, (Barlow screams, no) The riffs on this song are without a doubt my favorite. From begging to end I love this song.
Finally we get to A Question of Heaven. successful melancholy attempt #2? yes. Heavy? Yes! Epic? YES!!!!!
I don't care for Reaching the End or Pierced Spirit so to me I Died For You and AQoH were the brilliant birthers to the latter songs like Meloncholy, Watching Over Me, and Ghost of Freedom.
A very Diverse album like all IE albums but to me this one is even moreso. _________________
