This is a thread where you can discuss anything from this record, including tracks, artwork, production, and the line-up. Anything.

The one track I really like on The Crucible Cd is "Come What May". I think it is an epic song, as well a good 'end' to the story, if you can call it as such as well as the music itself, just really Iced Earth I think

I'm actually going to consider this to be one of my least favorite records. Not enough spunk to keep it enjoyable. Plus, I'm kinda getting sick of the whole Something Wicked storyline really...

The problem with Crucible of Man in my oppinion is, that there are too much mid-tempo songs in the record. I remember an interview with Jon before the release of Framing Armageddon where he talked about the two records (Framing Armageddon and Crucilbe Of Man) and said that the music from FA will go in the direction of the songs "Prophecy" and "Birth of the wicked" from Something Wicked This Way Comes and Crucilbe would sound more like "Coming Curse".

But Crucible to me just lacks in agressiveness and heavyness. There´s just to much mid-tempo songs on there.
However I still don´t think that it´s a bad record. I actually like it better than Framing Aramgeddon.

I can't say which song I like more, Behold the Wicked Child or Birth of the Wicked. Otherwise it was a good album. I would like Iced Earth to rewind their progression like I would with Blind Gaurdian. I guess I will have to appreciate what comes later for what it is.

Behold the Wicked Child is so one of my favorite Iced Earth songs. I also love the introduction of In Sacred Flames and how it transitions into Wicked Child.

I looked up the Latin meanings for each of the words here:

Dies natalis
Odisse mortalis

I got

Dies = day

Natalis = birthday

Odisse = hate/to hate

Mortalis = mortal

...lol, I was asked, "What kind of music are you listening to?!" at the "hate mortal" part. *shrugs* Oh well. I consider it fantasy, and Iced Earth is just simply EPIC.

Crucible of Man is also one of my favorite Iced Earth albums... I so wish I started listening to them BEFORE the COM tour! I also agree with Feanis, Come What May is an amazing song and great conclusion. First time I heard it I loved it!

There really isn't a song I DON'T like on the album, even though a lot sound pretty similar.
