Great setlists ! It would be great if there were more TCOM songs ...

I've been told that in Zagreb (Croatia) on 21.02 they'll play
1. Behold the Wicked Child
2. Motivation of Man
3. Setian Massacre
4 .Burning Times
5. Declaration Day
6. Vengeance is Mine
7. Ten Thousand Strong
8. Stormrider
9. Pure Evil
10. Watching Over Me
11. Coming Curse
12. I Walk Alone
13. Dracula
14. High Water Mark
Encore:
15. Melancholy
16. My Own Savior
17. Iced Earth
Most of the songs are from the list above but of course I would like them to play 17 songs rather than 14.

Well, maybe it would not be so bad, if this set hadnīt been played for what feels like an eternity.
Letīs be honest: Iced Earth plays the same set over and over again for quite some time now. There doesnīt seem to be any change at all.
This band has so many great songs, but still they allways do the same tunes live. I mean, I really like songs like Burning Times, My Own Savior, Vengeance Is Mine, Violate etc., but they mustīve been played a million times now.
This set really needs some changes, since Iced Earth plays very similar (sometimes even close to identical) sets on every tour since Glorious Burden.

not really man
Theyve included the Gettysburg Part II and III
I Walk Alone
Framing Armageddon songs
before that they had just retired To Curse the Sky and Path that I Choose.
The only real guaranteed constant is to play the song Iced Earth at the end.

and vengeance is mine, violate, declaration day and dracula.
That makes nine songs, that didnīt change for years now.
Of course they allways included stuff from the new records, but the classics Iced Earth plays stay the same. You just need to compare setlists from the last tours since 2004. Of course they are not the same, but similar, even the order in which the songs are played stays more or less the same.
What they did on the European festivals last year was a good step forward, when they included A Question Of Heaven, Dark Saga, Travel In Stygian, The Coming Curse and Pure Evil. Unfortunately just two of this songs stayed in the setlist (or only one for the running EU tour).

i dont mind the songs so much as the time both band played.an hour and 15 minutes is far too short.i realize its a co-headlining tour but common...at least an hour and a half.just chuck in stormrider and come what may

I meant as in the only song thats been played live since the creation of IE was that song. 5 years of the same setlist or similar set list is common.

I was kinda hoping the Paris setlist would've been like that due to some exception but that turned out to be wishful thinking...
Tilburg setlist from last night:
01. In Sacred Flames
02. Behold The Wicked Child
03. Invasion
04. Motivation of Man
05. Setian Massacre
06. Burning Times
07. Declaration Day
08. Vengeance Is Mine

I'm getting really disappointed at this tour... First there's no gig in Finland then the VIP packages get cancelled without so much as a word from Jon as to why that happened. Just getting rid of all the VIP package related news on the website isn't exactly the right way to handle something like that.
And now THIS setlist? I mean first of all, where the hell is Stormrider?! Why do Melancholy AND Watching Over Me when the set is already as short as it is? No Coming Curse, no Travel In Stygian, no Question Of Heaven etc...
Don't get me wrong I don't mean to bitch about it, I'm glad I'll get to see them at all and I'm sure I'll have a fuckin' great time but this isn't what we've gotten used to getting from IE over here in Europe. Especially after the nearly three hour long gigs on the Horror Show tour...

You're totally all right ! There is no epic song ... Where is the fucking Angel Holocaust ? It's sad ... And I'd pay a lot just to see A Question Of Heaven ... I'm sure that I'll have a great time too, but I'm sure they could do bether

Is it only me or has Barlow trained this song alot!
Just listen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-W8JkEVL9g
He has clearly improved that intro (and outro) scream, and the whole song sounds great!

It sound awesome, only thing is he still can't hold it as long as ripper

How could you guys even tell he was doing it? I heard it for like a second then bam, instruments just take over the noise stuff.

Thanks, sounds so much better, he does do a lot better job, and it seems like he put more power into it rather than holding it, which has always been Barlow.

Kinda late posting here but I was at the Stockholm show this Wednesday it was fuckin' awesome! The setlist was the exact same as on the earlier European gigs but I had such a great time even though the set could've been longer and had more of my fav songs...
But the sound was fuckin' awesome though I intentionally placed myself more on the left side of the stage to see Jon better and sometimes Troy's solos were a bit drowned in Jon's brutal riffing. The band's performance was also tight as usual and Matt really nailed Ten Thousand Strong.
The only bad thing I have to say about the whole gig was some of the asshole 13-year-old (or what looked like that anyways) Saxon fans that invaded most of the front row while us adults were still having a few beers and waiting for IE to start playing... The cunts started shouting shit like "We want Saxon" even as IE was entering the stage and didn't even bother to cheer for the band at all between songs or anything. What the fuck is that shit about?! Iced Earth should be playing after the wash-ups of Saxon anyways...

Why didn't you kick their faggot little asses?!?! ^^
Glad you had a good time! I was in Copenhagen, it was great there, many Iced Earth fans!

Yesterday's gig in Hungary was great! Me and my brother managed to get into the first row pretty soon into the gig and it was a great experience. The setlist was the usual, plus they played 'The Hunter' before the last song! It wasn't even on the setlist paper. The only disappointing thing about it, was that they played only one (well two, with in sacred flames) song from the new album. I've got nothing against the song 'Iced Earth', but seriously, 'Come What May' would be a perfect ending to the gig, don't they realize it?
Cheers!

Does anyone buy or see some stuff of the 2009 Merchandising ? I don't possess any Iced Earth's t-shirt so ... And what were approximatly the prices ?

yup...it was awesome...my brother got both picks from saxon and iced earth hanging on the wall as i speak...btw i heard from the guy that was on the rehearsal that troy kicks some serious ass with his rhythim work as well as solo.i always thought he coudnt play so fast as schaffer..so typical for schaffer he doesnt let him play it

Jon from Zurich!
I hope this update finds you well. I’m in Zurich, Switzerland right now enjoying a day off as we near the end of the European tour. We’ve had a great time with the guys in Saxon and the shows have been well received. We played Warsaw, Poland and Zagreb, Croatia for the first time, which was great. The Croatian fans rivaled the Greeks with their passion and intensity. We will definitely be coming back at some point in the future.

two friends of me were at the concert in vienna, cause you know I couldn't go....
he said , it wasn't soooo good as he expected it, and he knows IE for a long time, has seen them often. at the horror show tour and stuff, even met them and signed items and stuff, and he knows the band, I trust his judgemen.
He said, the show was far too short and they played too slow, although he said they were not bad, and were amazing, he was dissapointed a little, I can understand, the setlist isn't so amazing...
I hope they plan a headliner tour soon, in europe, and I hope their WILL be VIP tickets at last...

Nope Jon have had a vacation the last 6 months!
Don't know what the Set-List will be like but I don't think it will be
much new things since it is their first time in South America!

Thank you. I like having a set list in advance, so I'll print the one on this thread before the concert.
