All Purpose 'Black Metal' Topic

Jeez we have Immortal and Emperor going on all at once.

Might as well talk about ALL various founders/ bands we dig.

I figured Bathory, Celtic Frost or even how black metal's name was coined from NWOBHM band Venom would come up eventually.

Personally I dig some of the hybrids that have come out.

Old school Bathory/punk influenced black metal such as Dark Throne's newest album.

and Psychedelic Black Metal like Nachtmystium's Assassins album.

Celtic Frost is good, as is Venom. But I've never listened to Bathory or Dark Throne, but I'll be sure to check 'em out.

Other black metal bands I like are Immortal, Emperor, Mayhem, Arcturus, Behemoth, and Dimmu Borgir.

Personally I don't really like Burzum. I give the guy props for doing everything from prison but I really can't respect the guy, after all he DID kill the guitarist for Mayhem......

Burzum is really shit, I don't like them at all, they give metal a bad name, that guy is just sick, god sake he killed people! hes not much mire than a murderer to me, ....


I really like Immortal and Emperor as well as behemoth...

...and Venom is awsome, they kicked ass and still do....

Its like listening to most re-hash thrash or some1 who just discovered death metal

Your not listening to the right stuff man.

There is the KVLT stuff whereas its important to have underproduced garbage (which you were probably listening to)
Its almost as much a joke as nu metal or metalcore

Listen to Goatwhore, Nachtmystium's Assassins, and Dark Throne's FOAD and tell me if you think they sound the same.


+ some awesome emperor influenced black metal from Michigan.
