ARTWORK AND TITLE OF NEW FULL-LENGTH ALBUM REVEALED

The Crucible of Man - Something Wicked Part II
ARTWORK AND TITLE OF NEW FULL-LENGTH ALBUM REVEALED

IcedEarth.com has posted the cover art for the band’s forthcoming full-length studio album, "The Crucible of Man – (Something Wicked Part II)" which continues where their 2007 release, "Framing Armageddon – (Something Wicked Part I)" left off. "The Crucible of Man" features the return of frontman Matt Barlow who was Schaffer’s original voice of choice to introduce the "Something Wicked" saga back in 1998 as a trio of songs which concluded their album, "Something Wicked This Way Comes."

While the 1998 album provided a general overview of the story Schaffer has been conceptualizing for well over a decade, the saga is being fully brought to life with the release of the back-to-back conceptual albums "Framing Armageddon" and "The Crucible of Man." While both albums provide answers to mysteries the previous releases would create, the timeliness of the story in today’s world is guaranteed to keep people thinking and guessing. Schaffer’s ability to convey the central themes and events of the story without always revealing exactly “why” characters’ decisions are made and “how” events come to pass, will keep fans of the saga coming back as future mediums for the "Something Wicked" storyline are revealed.

A finalized tracklisting for "The Crucible of Man" and audio interview with Jon Schaffer covering the new material will be featured at IcedEarth.com later this month. The band will begin rehearsals next week for a run of dates in June as direct support for Judas Priest in Europe, as well as the Hellfest, Bang Your Head, Graspop, and Gods of Metal European festivals.

"The Crucible of Man" is due for a late August or early September release on Steamhammer/SPV. The release will then be followed by a North American tour that kicks-off in September and features an appearance as headliner for the ProgPower USA IX festival in Atlanta, Georgia on September 27. The North American dates will be announced at IcedEarth.com when they are confirmed.

The single from the new album is titled, "I Walk Among You" and is being released worldwide this week by Steamhammer/SPV and features the new track, "I Walk Alone, " as well as three additional songs from “Framing Armageddon” with new vocal performances by Matt Barlow. All tracks can be listened to in their entirety at both the band’s official website and MySpace page with exception of the track, “'A Charge to Keep'” which is an iTunes exclusive.

The art is amazing. I was looking at this in school, and many saw it. Eventhough they have no idea who the band is, they said the cover was sweet. Cool

He's always rad.  Laughing
Tainted Innocence

only reason they're is any debate is the simple fact that they are two very close bands with similar traits :p
Black_Sheep

I agree.

The new album cover is very cool (like always) and i can't wait to have it!

btw, i liked the title "Revelation Abomination" more than "Crucible Of Man"
Shorty

I hate the name Revelation Abomination, generally I don't like names which are too similar

I liked "Revelation Abomination" as well. Why did he change it? I mean, he did say he was going to, but why did he?
Shorty

Revelation Abomination was never the real name, it was just a project , only to call it something. Thats the reason why the last 2-3 months they called it Something Wicked Part II and not Revelation Abomination
Sandra - Dark Saga -

Jon didn't feel (yes, feel) that was the right name for the album so at some moment they started calling it "part 2"...

Then he said that when he'd be sure about the name, he'd let us know.... so, he did  Wink
KupoBarlow

Maybe changed the name cause' Revelation Abomination sounds like United Abominations or something else xD
The Wicked One

Well, he probably wanted it from off a song. with the actual title of a song or some profound 1 liner of lyrics that stick out.

While Revelation Abomination was a good play on words and could have been good marketing, ive never seen an IE album save Tribute to the Gods, The Glorious Burden and Days of Purgatory not have a song title as the album title.

Seeing as how GB had mixed reviews and we all know the other 2 were special occasions, i don't think Jon goes for outside the box titles.

to me thats a good thing. there are too many bands out there that will make an album with its title having NO connection whatsoever to the songs in any way.
Shorty

Well, maybe you are right but, either I have problems with my eyes or I have read a false track-list, because I haven't seen a song named The Crucible Of Man

A song called "The Crucible of Man" haven't been confirmed yet. But that could change, the epilogue was nameless the last time we received any news. Or maybe it's called "Epilogue".
The Wicked One

It might be a one liner from Come What May. but i get the feeling Since Part I had a title track, so would Part II
