What are Moderators?
Moderators are individuals (or groups of individuals) whose job it is to look after the running of the forums from day to day. They have the power to edit or delete posts and lock, unlock, move, delete and split topics in the forum they moderate. Generally moderators are there to prevent people going off-topic or posting abusive or offensive material.

here's what i've decided to do, i will make stickees for all IE related bands (D&W, BG, Pyra, Unearthed, ect)
if we had alot more people i would make a full fledged sub-forum for all bands i just mentioned.
if you want a sub-forum, get tons of people to sign up
(i hope i didn't sounds like a jerk  )
by the way Aggelos, I've made you moderator for the related bands section!!

I know this is a late reply, but to give a short answer on what mods and admins do, well the mod thing has been answered already, so here is the admin power. Same as mod except they have more power as in banning folks and their IP addresses. Changing things about the forum (which I would never do without discussing it with Paranoid first) like deleting topics and such. And well lots of other stuff involving the forum as far as how it looks, whats on it, who's on it and such, if this isn't too vague a description. Paranoid may have a better one.
