Gettysburg DVDWhat's with the interview on the DVD? Seems very negative with all the talk about how hard it is for him to make a living?
Overall I like the DVD and the battlefield tour a lot but this struck me about the interview.

I am probably about to speak blasphemy but I have yet to purchase or even watch the Gettysburg dvd, I will eventually though.

Same here, I bought the album and didn't want to get the DVD just yet, and just been slowly putting it off. Also, I got Alive in Athens in that timeframe too.

Got the DVD a while back for only 9.99€. And since (the song) Gettysburg is probably my favourite song of all time, it's a great DVD IMO. But it's a while I watched anything of the second DVD, so I don't remember anything from that interview. I did watch a week back the Spirit of '76 interview though.

well, I've got the DVD, cause I'm not only a fan of the trilogy, I'm also very interested in the historical background, I've made a work about Gettysburg in my last year at school, and the DVD really helped me....
About the music videos on it, well, they could have cut that out if you ask me, beside; why are Iced Earth videos a little bit strange sometimes?
The interview...well I liked it actually, I'll have to say that, cause it was cool for me hearing John talking about the band and stuff, also the new album, but there were a few things irritading about his saying, with the theme of Matt and Tim

I bought it a while back. It was ok. The music vids and interview are cool. I've only watched it three or four times... the music videos at least.

Yes he was saying he expects every band member to be fully committed and play at their best. So why fire Tim and so many other members? Or did they leave for their own reasons?

there are countless interviews concerning the Tim/Jon relationship, to the point Jon will finally say "I already told 50 other interviewers this question. Next Question!"
When it comes to music like this if you don't have a committed set of band members on the off, its hard to keep a steady lineup afterward.

I think, when John says, 100%, he wants it. And I think his standards were just to high for some members.
Some also left cause they didn't want to play with IE anymore....
How many times have we thought we are absolutely sure about a thing, and then changed our mind?
John is only human, and he shouldn't have to excuse for anything. It's his band, and he does most of the work. So, John also said so many times before, also Matt, that there is a special relationship between those two, and that cannot be replaced or be forgotten. John and Matt just fit perfect together, thats why Tim left and Matt came back.
Actually, as you said dude, John will probably kill the next person asking him, why tim left the band...
