Too damn cool! This has just made my day!

Yes! Fucking awesome! Thanks a lot!

Listened to the entire thing, and I gotta say that the quality kicks massive amounts of ass! Thanks for the upload.
Also noticed something, listen to Declaration Day, at the very end of the song did it sound like Matt forgot the lyrics to anyone else?
If so, that just adds to it's "kickassedness"

Do you enjoy his performence on "Ten Thousand Strong?"
|
Stormrider
|
Only one song from Framing Armageddon? Oh well downloading now, hope it's awesome!

Do you enjoy his performence on "Ten Thousand Strong?" | I think it's okay, I think Tim sings his material better, but I felt the same way when I heard certain songs Matt sounded great on being sung by Tim.
They each have their own style, and I think when playing live, they should probably stick to it.

Yeah, I do love the beginning scream with Matt though...
And I wish they played more from FA.

I hate to say it but I thought Matt sounded terrible on Ten Thousand Strong, he just couldn't get that shriek right :/

It's really obvious when you get to hear Matt on some of those songs.

My friend was there and saw it live, he said that Matt sounded 100 times better than Ripper on all songs, even Ten Thousand Strong!

I suppose it's all about taste. I like Matt better overall of ourse.

But again, I felt the same about Tim covering Matt's material.
But I agree with The Sexiest Metalhead, I'd take Matt Barlow anyday of the week, especially where Iced Earth is concerned!

I think Matt sounded really good on Declaration Day minus the part he messed up on. Ten Thousand Strong -- eh, it wasn't that great. But I also didn't think Tim sounded that great on it live either. Vocally, it seems like it'd be really hard to do that song live and it shows. There isn't a whole lot of time for breathing.

Yeah you're right!
If you listen to it live you hear that both Matt and Tim struggle on the first lines!

also remember that the recording is not the soundboard so basically not all of it is there. Barlow did kick ass on it in Chicago.

Already listened. Damn, Matt did good job on Declaration Day!

OOH :O I downloaded that last week, and I didn't think that could be as awesome as it is. 10'000 thousand strong is just perfect with Barlow on vocals.
I thought at the same thing, when I first listened to Setian Massacre and The Clouding, with Matt on vocals : he is made to sing in this band ! He's just like Bruce Dickinson in Iron Maiden I think they should make a second CD like Days of Purgatory with The Glorious Burdden and Framing Armageddon.
Do you think is a good idea ?
|
Dante
|
hmm...
A Glorious Burden remake would be nice, but Framing Armageddon was written for Ripper, it is good as it is.

I would like to hear Attila, The Reckoning and Greenface with Barlow on vocals. I don't think he could ever top Tim's vocals on Red Baron/Blue Max, or Gettysburg (especially in High Water Mark)
|
The Sexiest Metalhead
|
Yeah, I would love TGB to be redone with Barlow on vocals.
|
ragnew
|
If they ever did some remakes, I'd love to see them decide to remake the self titled CD as well as Night of the Stormrider in their entirety.
I'm not talking about a bit here, or a bit there like DoP, but more like a complete redo with the tech that the bands using now.
DoP's cool and all, but the quality of that collection is just kind of lacking... Example? Well how about how Stormrider starts on one track, and finishes up on another haha...
BTW, is that how the new remastered DoP is as well? Or is the whole song on one track as it should be?

The Wicked One

ragnew that was jon's decision on how Angels Holocaust ended and how stormrider starts.
It usually translates better live. since they just kick it into Jon's badassery.
While Angles Holocaust feels more dynamic with a melancholic outro.

Am I the only one that doesn't think that Matt's singing part in Stormrider doesn't really fit in?!

If they do another Purgatory type album (which I think would be cool) they may not be able to do Red Baron/Blue Max since Ripper wrote the lyrics, like with Written On The Walls/Cast In Stone. But I don't know. Though I would like them to do a studio or just put Barlows vocals in place of Gene's on Curse The Sky. And a complete redo of Stormrider would be cool with Barlow vocals. But they need to keep the speaking part in "Before The Vision" since they took it out in the remaster. The only way to hear that part is finding the original CD (or tape). Dark Genesis Remaster (later sold on its own) and the Slave To The Dark version (even though it has the original cover on it) are both the same, both are remasters without the speaking part.
Oh god am I going crazy
What is happening to me
I need some answers
I've been chosen by the darkest forces of nature
But why, why me
I think that's how it goes.

Me neither
I don't think TGB remake is that good idea, but Night Of The Stormrider remake (with better production and quality, and with Matt on vocals and Brent on drums) would be cool!

Yeah, I was a bit dissapointed, but Tim Owens vocal lines are pretty challenging for any singer.
But Matt sounded great on Declaration Day, except for when he forgot the lyrics at the end
