HammerFall VS. ManOwaRThe two most dreaded names in metal....but it seems like everyone listens to at least one of them 
I actually like them both, but I like ManOwaR a lot more. To me, HammerFall is a less brutal version of ManOwaR.
Who do you like more? If you've never listened to either go on YouTube and listen to a few songs from both.

Even if I ever had to laugh when I was listening to a song of them (because of the lyrics) but they are awesome, songs like Hail And Kill, The Power Of Thy Sword or The Oath are just epic!

Hammerfall. I can never take Manowar seriously. The new Hammerfall album sucks, but there earlier stuff is solid.

I actually enjoyed the new Hammerfall album. I mean, c'mon, with songs like Legion, Something For The Ages, and a cover of My Sharona, it's pretty awesome.

My Sharona is a horrible song to begin with, and them covering it just makes it more dreadful. Legion was of, but nothing special. The only good song is "Any Means Nessasary." Thats it. Everything else is awful.

well, actually I have to say I like Hammerfall more, although I don't like both too much, cause Hammerfall is sometimes more than emberassing, and so is manOwar, but I respect those who enjoy the music

I'm getting sick of Hammerfall. I'm reading concert reviews online and all I hear about is how they slack off on stage and don't perform well. Is this true?

Is saw them back in March and they were really good. In fact I was surprised about how good they were. I´m not a huge fan of the band, and I didn´t even go to the show because of Hammerfall (Sabaton were the support act an that´s why I went to the show), but they put on a good concert. At least in my oppinion.
Concerning the topic:
I can´t stand Manowar and think they are overrated so I go with Hammerfall.

My god, I will admit that Gods of War was probably the worst metal record of 2007. There are maybe 2 songs on the album that I can actually listen to - Loki God of Fire and King of Kings. Those are the ones I can think off of the top of my head, at least.
I will also admit HammerFall's No Sacrifice, No Victory by no means measures up to classics like Crimson Thunder or Renegade. It has a few good tunes and signature HammerFall riffs/solos but it just doesn't compare.
As it stands now I am leaning more towards HammerFall because I am actually seeing this a lot from ManOwaR

Well...Hammerfall has the pleasant habit that all their songs except three or four sound similar...really similar. It's like they create dozens of songs from one theme and mix minimally different solos in it.
Sorry, that's my opinion. Hammerfall has power, but I don't like them...they're too monotonous.
And Manowar, they are great and if I feel sad one time I turn on Manowar and the volume on maximum so the sadness is blown away quickly. Listening to Manowar grows such a great feeling (it's difficult to describe) that it's never comparable to Hammerfall.
Even if they have strange lyrics...I barely understand everything.

I would say ManOWar.
HammerFall is great, but I have a hard time if I don't ignore the lyrics maybe they work for some people, I don't know.
