ICED EARTH Extend US/Canada Tour; KNAC Live On-Air Radio

Back in the mid-late ‘90s, when everyone was declaring that ‘metal
was dead,’ guitarist Jon Schaffer and his band, ICED EARTH,
refused to acknowledge the naysayers, and were one of the few
metal bands of the era to proudly continue on their metal path. As
a result, Iced Earth has built an enormous and dedicated following
throughout the world, and this year, issued their tenth studio
album overall, The Crucible of Man: Something Wicked Part II.

Spending the summer touring in support of the album alongside
such metal legends as IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST and KISS, Iced
Earth is prepared to bring their show back to the US in November,
for a string of special shows.

“I am very much looking forward to the next leg of the North
American ‘Crucible’,” says Schaffer. “We have been working pretty
much non-stop since May, and there's no better way to end the
year than with a healthy dose of METAL! Meeting the Minions
[referring to Iced Earth’s fan club, ‘The Minions of the Wicked’]
before and after the shows has been a great experience. I started
this band as a vehicle for my songs, and the fans that truly ‘get’
Iced Earth - and the way of life that surrounds it - are the reason I
am still out there. The energy between the band and the fans is
something that is very dear to my heart."

Support on all these forthcoming dates will come from EARLY MAN.
And due to the overwhelming success of the initial ‘Child Of The
Wicked’ VIP packages, Iced Earth have decided to give their fans
the chance to get close to the band again, by offering VIP
packages (which are already on sale) for all the shows listed
below.

“There will be some surprises in 2009,” hints Schaffer. “We will
announce more worldwide touring shortly, and I am already hard
at work on the next chapter. No rest for the wicked!”

Additionally, tune in at 5 PM(PST) this coming Monday, November
10th when Iced Earth band member Jon Schaffer phones into the
KNAC.com studio to speak with Junkman.

Guess he meant just a new album? I saw wicked and assumed SW. Anyway, you never know, I can see him still doing it.

all I say is STORMRIDER!!!!    \m/
Set Abominae

I think it'd be badass if they did an album based of the new batman movies......hey I can dream, can't I?

It'd also be cool if they did another TTTG or something way out of the box, like Mastodon is doing [they're doing an album about Czarist Russia. Crack The Skye it's called.]
Sentinel

There were a interview with Jon and Matt in the latest Sweden Rock Magazine, where Jon was asked what the next album will be like and he answered that he don't yet know but a album about the invasion of normandy is one idea and also he tought about making a album without any theme or concept, just 10-12 straight on heavy metal songs.
So let's see what it turns out to be but I agree with paranoidmexican, a history based album would be great.

And Worldwide touring sounds awesome, atleast if they come to Finland!
The Wicked One

IE hasn't done specifically 'just a heavy metal album since the S/T. Unless you  count Tribute to the Gods. That would be very interesting. But WWII stuff sounds cool too.
Sentinel

Yes, both things would be fine for me!

And SWTWC too , cause, only the trilogy is a concept the rest are straight metal songs (ok, Melancholy, BAY and Consequences are half ballads (aka power ballads ) Laughing  )
The Wicked One

yes but Burnt Offerings had a concept behind it. almost entirely religion based other than 2 songs. only Last December and Diary.

What I meant by 'Heavy' I meant stuff like transitioning to Colors to When The Night Falls.
or Written on the Walls. They are not as tied together lyrically and musically

In your opinion but "officially" there was no concept
The Wicked One

something along the Burnt Offerings formula (dark, more extreme metal variant)  would be nice but seeing as how Jon basically hates the album it would hinder any chances of a new album even coming close to resembling it.

So something like the S/T could happen. But not the life-angst X 10000 that BO made.
