heres one thats been going on for decades. well, they have both done great albums ( rust in piece, master of puppets), and both have done crap (risk, load).....so who's better? my vote goes for dave and company. because megadeth, in my opinoin, has been more consistant, and it took metallica 20 fuckin years to put out the album (death magnetic), that should have came after justice.

To evolve this a little more let's compare 2 shitty albums.
Megadeth Risk:
Crush 'em kicks ass imo.
Seven's kinda good to i guess.
The rest of the album is kinda, nah.
And all those mix-versions in the end is just overkill.
Metallica:
Load, Reload, St. Anger and Black Album: Have all together 1 good song (Enter Sandman). The rest sucks.
Megadeth = Win.

I like Load. Quite a bit actually. Bleeding Me and The Outlaw Torn kick some serious ass. At the time of release, I wasn't a huge fan but now I can look at Load and even ReLoad and appreciate what they were doing. They're just good hard rock albums IMO. Besides St. Anger, which is a given, the only Metallica album I'm not big on is the Black Album. I hate Enter Sandman first of all. That is the most overplayed piece of crap of the last 20 years. The only songs I can even listen to from that album anymore are The God That Failed and Wherever I May Roam.
If I had to choose, I'd say Megadeth. Dave is a hell of a guitarist and I love his lyrics.

metallica has got Kill em' all, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, ...And Justice for All and the Black Album...
the stuff afterwards kicks ass too if you ask me, but you can't compare it to the former songs...
beside that, megadeth HAS good songs, but most stuff is not that good, just songs that sounds pretty cool, but nothing compared to the mighty songs of metallica like Blackend, Battery, Fight Fire with Fire etc...
Lars Ulrich is an asshole, I hate him cause he made metallica become weak and soft...I mean, no alcohol, children, WHAT THE FUCK, that isn't metallica anymore, but they are still better than Megadeth...
So Metallica wins, cause they had the better albumsa and kicked ass much harder in their former times
altough megadeth IS a good band
but I respect Mustain and he is surely a great guy, for not letting himself down when those assholes James and Lars kicked him out, it was NOT a very politely way, and I have much respect, that he still could make a good band.

I'd say Megadeth, Metallica cannot be forgiven for Black Album onwards (except Unforgiven I and II and Enter Sandman). I don't really like AJFA either, songs are too long and there's no bass at all (One and Blackened are good) and I don't like Jaymz's vocals very much on Kill 'Em All. All that leaves me with a lot of Metallica material which I don't particularly like. Even though I like RtL and MoP more than any Megadeth work, there just isn't much Metallica I like. This makes Megadeth win in my eyes.
