Just my opinion on the subject. With only 8 - 15 notes [including minors and such] songs are going to sound the same sometime. This just makes people think bands are ripping off other bands. |

Yep, the first notes are the same.
It is almost impossible to create a riff which hasn't exist before. Someday I played a really nice melody on my guitar, then I listened to maidens The Legacy and realized: fuck, it's the same
