You've started a war.....but I'll go to one of my latest blogs to end it....
" 'The Big Four' I'm reffering to is the big four of Thrash Metal - Metallica, MegaDeth, Slayer, and Anthrax. This blog is going to go through what each of them deserves and why. As you can see on my top eight, my order in the favorites goes as follows: Anthrax, MegaDeth, Metallica, and Slayer. I will try to explain in this blog why.
First of all, Slayer. Slayer is one hell of an awesome band. Though some of their albums I cannot stand to listen to, I respect them. If it weren't for Slayer, a lot of metal bands that are popular today would not exist. 'Christ Illusion', Slayer's latest album, is my favorite by far. I liked every song off of it. The main reason why Slayer is at the bottom is because they went on tour with Marilyn Manson. I HATE Marilyn Manson with a passion, as I'm sure most of you do. Slayer + Marilyn Manson = suckfest. MM brought a lot of shit onto Slayer, and apparently their shows in 2006/2007 were pretty bad. They are also at the bottom because Kerry King is probably the biggest ass on the face of the universe, worse than Mustaine or Ulrich.
Secondly, Metallica. The puppet masters are in third for three main reasons. Firstly, they went from being the biggest, loudest, heaviest metal band in the eighties to probably one of the worst. It really sucks, and it almost wants to make me cry. My favorite 'tallica albums aren't even the heavy stuff - I like the Load/ReLoad albums best! But St. Anger.....god, that was a piece of shit. If it were released by ANY other band, it would have been amazing. But because Metallica did that, they lose tons of respect. Not to say the whole album was horrible; Frantic, St. Anger, and The Unnamed Feeling are actually good songs, but all in all it was pretty bad. Another thing that pisses me off about Metallica is that if someone's a Metallica fan, they are ninety percent of the time completely obsessed with them and they won't take any criticism for them. People who can't take criticism shouldn't be metal fans, let alone musicians. Although, if Metallica's next album is as good as they say it is, I will have a renound faith in the band.
Thirdly, MegaDeth. MegaDeth beats Metallica this time around because of the three already discussed, they are the band that pisses me off the least. 'United Abominations' is a damn good album, and though some of the songs are bad, all in all, it has good intentions. The concert they put on in September was also kickass. They even played my favorite 'Deth song - She-Wolf. I will say this, though - Mustaine is an ignorant ass. He thinks he's God, and while he may come close, no cigar. Anyone who's a Mustaine fan thinks the same as well, and just like Metallica fans, they can't take shit as well.
The winner of the four bands this round, though, is Anthrax. From 'Fistful of Metal' to 'The Greater of Two Evils', Scott Ian's crew has put everything through at one-hundred and fifty percent. While most preffer Joey Belladonna on vocals, I think John Bush did better with the band. Not to say that Belladonna's work was bad; I just think his voice lacked a bit. Anyway, if you haven't heard any 'Thrax, some songs to look into are Deathrider, Keep It In the Family, Caught In A Mosh, Among The Living, Sodium Pentathol, NFL, Gung Ho, I Am The Law, and Indians. Recently, Anthrax recruited Dan Nelson as the new vocalist for the band. That is why Anthrax rules ass."
