"Billboard announced that the band Aerosmith was 'working closely with the makers of Guitar Hero IV, which will be dedicated to the Boston group's music.' Guitar Hero IV was also confirmed as in development following the announcement of the merger between Activision and Vivendi Games in December 2007. It is currently unclear whether this announcement was in reference to Guitar Hero IV, or the announced expansion to Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock; Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.
. On February 15, 2008, Activision announced that one of the two new Guitar Hero installments will be Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, to be released in June of 2008. Guitar Hero: Aerosmith will be developeby Neversoft for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, while the Wii version of the game will be developed by Vicarious Visions and the PlayStation 2 version will be developed by Budcat Creations.
The game will focus primarily on the top-selling American rock band Aerosmith. The soundtrack will be composed of songs performed by Aerosmith or otherwise related to the band. Venues featured in the game will highlight different points in the band's career. Kai Huang, president and co-founder of RedOctane, has indicated that the game will span the full 30+ years of Aerosmith's history, from high school to super-stardom.
The game will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and PlayStation 2 on June 29, 2008. It has not yet been rated by the ESRB.
This is not the first time Aerosmith have featured in such a game. Quest for Fame had a very similar premise to this Guitar Hero edition."
Now, I dunno about you guys, but I think this sounds REALLY gay. I'll buy it because I like Aerosmith, but hell, do they really need an entire guitar hero game about them?! If it was about a band like Metallica, MegaDeth, or Iced Earth, Hell yeah! But Aerosmith?!?!?!
