Orlando show kicks ass...............

Just got home from an awesome performance by Iced Earth at the house of blues in Orlando Florida. This was the first time I ever seen them live and let me tell you they did not disappoint. They played the same setlist from all the other previous shows . The highlights for me were: Burning Times ,Dracula, watching Over Me ,Melancholy and High Water Mark ,which was simply amazing!
Barlow messed up on Hold at all Costs, he forgot the words in the middle of the song and in Ten Thousand Strong his mic and voice messed up a bit , but overall he and the band kick ass, tons of energy with the fans and I singing along to every song. Got to meet the band after the show with my vip ticket which was real cool, I love the passion Jon Schaefer has about his band and metal overall, The VIP laminate was super cool , all the band members signed it for me. Finally the limited edition T-Shirt fuckin rocked, overall  one of the best concerts I've attended in a long time, If you've never seen them live, you gotta go, what a Night! peace out

WellHungarian followed me to the show.... and by the way... It wasn't Barlow that messed up... It was Brent.... He mistakenly hit his snare on an off beat which threw the entire band off que. Which in turn messed Barlow up. Brent was so pissed after the show that he was in complete silence.

Mistakes happen, it's cool.

Venue: House of Blues
Orlando, FL

The day started off really cool. I arrived at the venue around 4:00pm. I picked up my tickets around 4:15pm and then ate dinner at the House of Blues Restaurant. With a bill of over $10.00 a patron viewing the show is able to jump to the front of the line and get in before everyone else. The V.I.P. laminates were passed out at 6:25pm to all that had the proper paperwork. We then had to pop back in line and then we headed to the venue. Into Eternity was the opening band. They played decently well but didn't tickle my fancy. After a half hour Iced Earth then got on stage.

Brent had a little bit of a mistake that occurred twice during Hold at all Costs. He threw in an off rhythm snare hit that threw the entire band off. They recovered eventually but not before pissing off Jon and Matt. After such a great show, I got to meet Jon's parents and we talked a little bit about the Tampa Bay area. With the V.I.P. pass we were able to meet and greet the band after the show. We received the V.I.P. t-shirt before meeting the band. Jon was sitting directly at the front of the table. I had him sign my t-shirt and asked him if he had any plans to re-issue or re-master any of the old Purgatory songs. He responded by saying that not everyone would like that stuff and that it was going to be left the way it is. Matt was next. I handed Matt my copy of Crucible of Man that had already been signed by Jon from Newbury Comics. He signed that and my V.I.P. shirt. I commented on his Green Lantern shirt and welcomed him back to the band. He was very nice and thanked me. Then came Freddie. Freddie didn't say a word and signed both items. I then mentioned that bass players were my friends in the band. He looked up with curiosity. I told him that I play a Warwick Double Buck and he responded with, "Damn, thats a nice expensive bass." He then told me that he couldn't tour with a bass like that for a fear of damaging it. He then shook my hand. Brent was next. You could tell that he was seriously thinking about the mistake that he made. He seemed deeply upset. I gave him some words of encouragement and he thanked me and signed my stuff. Troy was the last to sign my stuff. It was overall a great show, even though there was the presence of those two mistakes. If you have a chance to see them live, do it! It was worth the $74.00 that I paid for the V.I.P. ticket.
