RIP Dimebag Darrell

Today, December 8th, is Dimebag Darrell's deathday.

It has been 4 years since our beloved brother has left this world.

Darrell was murdered on stage when performing with his side project Damageplan. He was shot three times in the head by a man named Nathan Gale, who also managed to wound several others.

I don't care if you hate Pantera. I don't care if you hate Phil Anselmo. I don't care if you hate heavy metal [but what the hell are you doing on a metal forum?!]. But you better show respect to this man.
The Sexiest Metalhead

I was pissed when I found out about this. I know this is kind of rude but I'm glad that cop killed the dude that shot Dimebag. Dumb fuck.

He was a kickass player. And he will be missed.
NightCrawler

I'm not a big Pantera-fan, but it always sucks to lose a metal brother.

I raise my fist for a fallen warrior, may we see us in Valhalla.
And the fucker who killed him: may he roam in Hel forever Evil or Very Mad

RIP Dime, I hate how his death has become kind of a gimmick now (any band can say "this one's for dime" and the crowd goes nuts)

DantesInferno

I am a fan of Phil Anselmo, never understood what the Abbots were pissed off at him about (wouldn't even let him go to Dimes funeral, that was just sucky of them to do that) but Dime was, well still is one of the greatest guitarists ever! Even if he is dead, few in my opinion are as good or close to as good as he was.
Dante

R.I.P Dime.

there was alot of drama. As you know Pantera broke up and Damage Plan was made.

Apparently the break up was bad. Still every1 should be allowed to pay their respects.
Phil is rumored to be an ass butt he should have been allowed to attend.

R.I.P. Brother Dime, ....

Hey you guys know "Astethics of Hate" from Machine Head? Its a song written for Dime...
Tainted Innocence

really?
Feaněs

yeah, they wrote the song after some dirty journalist wrote shit about dime and the metal scene itself, they wrote the song to honor dime, his afforts to the metal business and heavy metal itself,

listen to it yourself!!!
Tainted Innocence

if you've seen the video for "in this river" by black label society,
it's a very very meaningful song/vid...
the only thing is,it makes it look like the song is made for dime.
when actually it was written before he even passed on.

but if you want to see an amazing song and vid.
watch it.
Feaněs

yeah, listened to it, it IS an amazing song, I agree...
The Sexiest Metalhead

Nickelback's "Side of a Bullet" is also about Dime.. I think Dime wrote the solo in it as well.

Tainted Innocence

heard something about that,
still hate nickelback.
The Sexiest Metalhead

I don't mind them, better than most of the shit that comes out now a days.
Tainted Innocence

well,i don't listen to stuff i don't buy (i hate radio) soo i don't hear much bad stuff like that.

it's good that they had enough heart to write a song for him.
The Sexiest Metalhead

Anyone hear a fan of Pantera's stuff before "Cowboys from Hell?" My favorite album from them is titled "Power Metal."

I think their pre-"Cowboys" stuff is the best.
