They created their MySpace 2007-08-26, they was called Seventh Seal. Don't know when they changed name though. But it was after 2007-09-21! |

I don't really know what Faust is. I know that there is a movie and Cradle Of Filth are on the soundtrack. I think it's a comic book series too. Apparently lots of goth type folks and those into Alister Crowley and stuff like that are into what ever Faust is. Is it originally a book or something? Oh well. |

Its the first telling of Satan/Lucifer/Bealzeabub/The Deciever/The Persuader when he was still an angel, whereas he leads a rebellion against God. He is defeated and cast down.
Iced Earth's debut album cover displays the cast down part rather well. The song itself "Earth, Water, Fire and Air, Save yourself from despair" Has to do with it since the angels who were cast down along with Lucifer find sanctuary within the elements of nature. Iced Earth the song is a small portrayal of Faust or for that matter Paradise Lost. Paradise Lost is simply another version whereas they focus more on Lucifer's character development. The Stormrider also was given power by the elements. Another small Faust connection. My own speculation, most Pagan beliefs focused on an elemental sense. Christianity, used this to help anti Pagan movements. |
