SWEEEEEET!!!!
Shorty

Stu is a great vocalist with a fucking wide range and I'm sure he can peform the early era (Iced Earth - NOTSR) and of course the Ripper era, but I'm worried about the Barlow songs...  Confused
The Wicked One

I'm almost willing to bet money on Stu doing Dracula justice.

If you are worried about him doing lower notes ala Barlow style...

Into Eternity isn't styled around it so I don't think anyone has heard Stu do something like that.

I figure that Iced Earth will bring this version of Stu to light. This will keep both bands different and of equal interest.

I don't know Su Block much to be honest...but I listened to a few songs of his band and he sounds ok to me.
of corse I'll wait for the IE songs for a final statement, but I look forward to a new album and hopefully a new fitting voice.
that barlow left is sad but I think we should make the best of this whole thing and welcome stu in the IE familily when the time comes.

actually it would be good to see IE back with new album and a few tourdates more than the last years...Jon needs to realize that the fans are waiting for something to happen and he finally has to tour again!

yeah, i think you're probably right. I'm really excited about the new CD, I mean, we have some ideas about the sound and blocks vocals, but actually we don't know anything about the album, except the title.

This was on IE's Facebook.

Hello Friends,

All is well here as we are pushing forward with master tracking the new album "Dystopia."

We have finished drums and rhythm guitars and are right on schedule. I'll be heading to Europe tomorrow for a few festival dates and then right back to work in the studio on Monday. Jim Morris and I are having a great time, as usual, and are very much looking forward to starting vocal tracks with "Stucifer" next week!

Stu Block has contributed a lot to the vocal parts on this record, with co-writing credits on 10 out of 12 songs, and I'm very happy with our chemistry and what we've accomplished together so far. And we're just getting started.

Here are a few titles for you to ponder...

Dystopia
Anthem
Days of Rage
Soylent Green
V
Boiling Point
Tragedy and Triumph
Anguish of Youth
Iron Will

Just a little update for you guys. It's a crazy-busy summer. But I'll try to update you as often as I can!

Take care,

Jon

From what I can tell I think there will be a little SOL in here. Any thoughts on that or perhaps a different opinion?
The Sexiest Metalhead

Let's go Stu! He's gonna kick ass, no doubt
