The Crucible of Man: Something Wicked Part 2I received this in an email today from Newbury Comics:

That item was The Crucible of Man: Something Wicked Part 2 with autographs from all the band members. This means that I'll probably receive my shipment either on Friday, Saturday, or Monday. If its with USPS and first class, it'll be here soon enough!

Could you create a topic and post all the lyrics please? Would be REAL awesome, plus the earliest bird gets the worm...as in the first websites to put up lyrics to the album will get more hits when people search for it, aka, more users!

GREAT GREAT GREAT ALBUM !!! The story is just amazing ! I retranslate the both albums in french and it's a fuckin' great history ... But I just have one problem : in my CD's booklet, there aren't the lyrics of "The Revealing" ? Someone can post these lyrics or just tell me what it's about ?

It's cool that there are the lyrics of In Sacred Flames, but it sucks that they kicked the Revealing lyrics.
I'll post later some lyrics, bought it yesterday from a cd store

what do you think of the font ? I can't read some word, that isn't as clear as the Framing Amargeddon's font ...
Yes it's cool that they put the lyrics for the intro.. When I download this released, I didn't notice that the intro is the outro of Framing Armaggedon, and that it's played in many song of the album ...

It’s funny. Now that Tim Owens has departed from Iced Earth, I hear people saying that it was a bad move to get rid of him. Yet when Barlow was gone, people were saying it was the wrong move. Hypocritical? You decide.
First thing, the vocals on this album are great. This front man drama is beginning to become irritating. Matt Barlow does a fantastic job for material that wasn’t written for him. At some points it feels like he’s being held back, but it’s not that big of a deal. Plus he was out of the metal scene for almost seven years. It certainly doesn’t sound like it.
The production is better than it’s predecessor “Something Wicked Part 1.” Everything feels heavier and the thin sounding drums and guitars have been fixed. That’s always a plus, right?
The album starts off slow. The first six songs are either too short or not that exciting. The ballad “A Gift or Curse” is interesting, having Jon Schaffer do some of the vocal work, but it doesn’t feel like it’s going anywhere. “Minions of the Watch” and “The Revealing” are much too short and it wilts the excitement that the songs could have had.
Once “The Dimension Gauntlet” starts, this is where the album truly shines. This is the Iced Earth we all know and love. It’s a little on the short side but still very enjoyable. “Sacrificial Kingdoms” is my favorite from the album. The layered vocals are a nice touch, and the playing by Brent Smedly on drums is fantastic as always. “Come What May” is a great ending to the saga with the amazing vocal performance of Matt Barlow.
The songs I didn’t mention have their perks and are great songs as well. People doubting that Barlow could perform on this album will be surprised on how well he pulled this off. Schaffer’s riffage is as powerful as ever and the song writing is cleaver and well written. Any hardcore Iced Earth fan will eat this up, but for people looking to get into this band this release will impress you.

Well, the Album itself didn't blew me of my feet, first time I heard, it, so I heard it very concantrated and after a while it really kicked my goddamn ass.
The sound is just as powerful as the lyrics and the riffing of Schaffer. Beside the wonderful feeling to hear that Matt is truly the man, the album shows a lot of tragety and a very epic feeling.
The intro, is a good choice, it is a very good opener. Behold the Wicked, Minions and the Revealing, weren't that big, and aren't as powerful as they could be..., but with a gift or a curse, the thing starts to get very nice. Not that the first numbers are bad, no, they are just the beginning of a very good album.
With, Crown of the Fallen, a very good song, with tragety and a feeling of inner pain was written, very deep going and with fantastic lyrics, it's one of my favourite...
Dimension....I goes we all agree in that song being amazing. I walk alone is also a very very heavy song, that gets you banging every time...
For Harbinger of Fate has a very good lyric, that works together well with the riffs and the great vocals by Matt and Schaffer, getting the hearing on deeper inside mind and heart of the characters...
Crucify the King is kicking as, although I miss something in that song, just don't know what it is....
Sacrificial Kingdoms, is just big, and it gets bigger every time I hear it, it is full of hidden wonders for ear and heart...
SWP3 is what it is, something that makes the story more complete, but the riffs, that are returning, doesn't make it so new, but that's okay, cause I think it shouldn't be another way...
Divide and Devour has some havy shit in it, kicking ass and making your heart doing circles...
Come what may is my favourite one, it is the end and the really crown of this album, the heavy vocals and the epic riffs, combined with tragic and painfull feelings make the song perfect....
All in all, I'm very satisfied with the album, and I don't really miss the fast songs, cause if Schaffer would have wanted this album fast, he would have done it....

Got the new album today. And i've given it 2 spins so far.
The album didn't grab me until "The Revealing" kicked in, after that I was pretty into the whole album. The album feels powerful and Matt's voice is in great shape.
But there's one thing that's brings down the album a bit, and that's the riffs, they are far too repetitive. And at some places the music and lyrics dosn't really fit together.
And why are there so many short songs? Both Crown of the Fallen and The Dimensional Gauntlet are great songs but they could be atleast 2 minutes longer.
Still, i'm quite happy with this album, and I think it's in the same quality as Framing Armageddon. Not among Iced Earth's best albums but for sure worthy to be in the Iced Earth discography.
Also I feel this album will grow on me quite much so in the future the opinion can be totally diffrent.
Best songs IMO: Come What May, Divide And Devour, Sacrificial Kingdoms, I Walk Alone, Harbinger Of Fate
