Dante's Inferno (Alive in Athens)
The Wicked One

birth of the wicked
Stormrider

Sometime around the release of Night Of The Stormrider. I had never heard of IE before and when I saw the album in the store that day, I knew it was going to be awesome, and that was judging solely on the album cover artwork. So basically it was the WHOLE album that got me into the band but to get technical the first song I heard obviously was track 1 Angels Holocaust.
The Sexiest Metalhead

Stand Alone was my first i believe. I stole the cd from my brother and listen to it, and for some reason I listened to that song first.
Sandra - Dark Saga -

Angels Holocaust
The Wicked One

hey Sandra, its been awhile.
Black_Sheep

Dracula. Years ago, and i didn't like it really much in the first place  Very Happy  ...and then years later i listened to Something Wicked This Way Comes and realised that Iced Earth is one of the best bands there is Smile
Tainted Innocence

uhhh,
i think it was damien.
followed by the rest of the horror show cd,
and many years of obsession with IE.

Good to know I was missed  Wink

I had to solve some personal stuff, but anyway, I'm back and Matthew Barlow's Fan Page will be back soon, too.

I don't remember exactly. Maybe one of the Glorious Burden record... The first song I remember is Angel Holocaust 'cause the first Iced Earth's CD I buyed was Night Of The Stormrider and it's the first song.

Dark Saga.
I bought the cd without knowing anything about them. I was actually looking for a new Maiden CD (in the days before I had a PC). I seen the cover art and seen the capital "I" so I grabbed it thinking it was Maiden. After realizing it wasn't .I decided to buy it anyway . the artwork intrigued me.
I listened to the song Dark Saga and I Died For You in the parking lot of the store. After I heard those two songs I went back into the store and bought burnt offerings and Something wicked(which had just been released).I have been pushing their name ever since.

Sorry about the long post.

That's interesting. So, you purchased an Iced Earth cd thinking it was Maiden? Sounds like a mistake I would make...  Laughing

I listened to "Terror Train" by Demons and Wizards before I listened to Iced Earth. Does that count? My first Iced Earth song might have been The Reckoning, it was something Tim Ripper Era.

i guess I'll tell my story. when i was 15 i thought Marilyn Manson and Slipknot and Korn were metal. yeah, i was a nu-metal freak. this one dude i was friends wit in art class told me to try out this band instead of poser shit, and he let me listen to Dante's inferno, the reason being was that at the time i was reading Dante's inferno (the book). I thought it sounded badass and diffrent so I asked him about the band. He made a list of all their albums, followed by the statement "i'm not making you all those fucking cds" so I asked him for the album with the song I just heard and the next day he gave me a copy of AiA (3 cd). After that I was hooked, and a week later he gave me a data cd with all the IE albums on it.

I'm pretty sure it was Life And Death. Uber-mega riffsplosion.

What about Ultra-mega riffsplosion? That's what I would've said... Laughing
DantesInferno

First song I heard was Burning Times
Zook

The first Iced Earth song I heard was Declaration Day. With Barlow it was Watching Over Me. With Adam and Greely most likely Iced Earth and Angels Holocaust because I bought most of Iced Earth's albums at once through Amazon.
abominae1

Angel's Holocaust with Matt on vocals.
Kanadwen

My first song was The Coming Curse. Had a buddy over the INTERWEB back when I was like 10 (1998)  that was like "Dude, check out this kick ass song, it has this kick ass piano entrance and then it just explodes your BRAIN!". Fell in love. Razz
zadok

Burnt Offerings.
KupoBarlow

Dark Saga, long time ago when i was reading some SPAWN comic books, a friend told me: hey bud, did you heard this band before? this is a conceptual album about THAT comic" and i listened...and i said "WOW, THAT'S FUCKIN' KICK ASS!"

Then i downoload some song...then y buy Something Wicked This Way Comes....and haha, i'm a freakin' fan! Laughing
El Vid

Angel's holocaust  (and then stormrider, path I choose...)
Vengeance

I think the first song was Melancholy (Holy Martyr), because we played with my first band called Night Elves...
symbelinea

I think it was 'Dragon's Child'.. after that, I saw IE's 'the blessed and the damned' at a discount in music market and immediately I bought it..
Set Abominae

Hmm, surprised I haven't posted here. Oh well.

I was 15. A friend of mine, Tony, got me into Sabbath, Maiden and Metallica [I was into Stryper and Quiet Riot, but I mainly liked alternative]. Then, my friend Clinton gave me a burnt copy of SWTWC. I listened to that CD from front to back until it crapped out on me.

So my first IE track was Burning Times
Sentinel

The very first song i've heard of them was "Jack" from a compilation cd called The "History of Metal: Power metal". I wasn't really hooked by it and forgot the band until I got "Alive in Athens".

Well, nowadays I consider "Jack" to be a great song but back then it was a little too raw and heavy for my taste.
Kalmari

My first was Overture. Struck me entirely and I had to buy the hole discography  Laughing
KitCorpse

My first taste of IE was Angel's Holocaust from NotSR. I was in Middle School when it came out and was just being introduced to heavy metal.
e6r6i6c

I think it was Pure evil on the Alive in Athens cd, I loved it immediately, the next day I went to the shop to buy the 3 cd box, and later on I saw that I had a rare misprint version of it, where on the back cover print you see the band banner in the photograph spelled backwards  Twisted Evil
Feaněs

Burning Times, that was all I needed to hear, it blew me of my fucking shoes....   Twisted Evil
The Sexiest Metalhead
