Tim Owens Interview by Iced Earth Turkey (2007)

Tim Owens Interview by Iced Earth Turkey (2007)

Hi Tim. First we congrulate you about your good works and projects. We want you to know our admiration to you. We told you that we wish an interwiev from you and we were accepted, Thank you for this. Questions were determined by our members. Your answers will make us happy. Lets start..

1-When looking "Old Iced Earth" and "Present Iced Earth" we see a big change. Do you believe you are the reason of this change? If you do what's new did you bring this band?
No..I think it remands me alot of classic IE going way back..but Jon is the main guy., so really everything that goes on would be Jon.

2-What did you feel when you were offered to be the Vocalist for Judas Priest, your heroes? What did "being JP Vocalist" gained to you (else than money Smile ) ?
Well singing for Judas Priest was great and got me out there so I could continue on in music..no being with Iced Earth just tops it off.

3-In the album "Framing Armageddon", there was some chorus partitions. Was it to support you on vox or about the Jon's Compositions?
Jons comp's..this is his thing..he has put choir parts in his cd's for years.

4-After the album "Alive in Athens" Iced Earth started to rise and this concert and album, gained Iced Earth too much fans. But after change of the Line-Up, Iced Earth had a really big standstill.  We see Iced Earth is getting stronger with "Framing Armageddon". After this, what plans do you have to make the Iced Earth rise again?
Well, the Glorious Burden was the biggest seller to date, so I think it is growing, but the neww one is so great that I see us just going forward (I HOPE) hahaha.

5-In here, Turkey, you have a great mass of fans and it's getting bigger everyday. Do you think to come Turkey for concerts?
Not sure..I dont really have any say in that, But let me tell you, I would love too.

6-In the Framing Armageddons' some songs, your high pitched voice is being overcome by the guitars and drums. Is it something adjusted by Jon or is it something which will be adjusted with release?
Well my high notes are mostley harmonys and should be in the back ground.

7-We think that your Scream Vocals could be too effective on Thrash Metal. Would you think it too? May you plan to make some of your "Beyond Fear" songs in thrash style?
I like the high stuff but it is not my favorite..Beyond fears nxt cd will blow people away.

8-"Rock Star" is a movie about you. What do you think about this film and what did you think when you have heard this movie would be shot?
Well it was ok..just losely based on me.

9-What is your favourite Iced Earth song which wasn't written on your period? What do you think about your scream vocals role on this song?
I like Burning times...It fits my voice perfect and that is the type of singing I like to do the best

10-What is the place of "Beyond Fear" in your career? Can you tell us about your future projects? Can we expect a new album soon?
Well I love Beyond Fear because I get to write the songs and it means a lot, I mean the last cd was one of the better reviewed cd's out of all of mine ....so I want Beyond Fear to GROW.

11-What was your first thought when Jon first invited you? Could you tell us about your coming to Iced Earth?
It was real cool..Perfect fit, we are friends and I loved the Glorious Burden.

12-Did you ever meet with Matthew Barlow? What do you think about him and his past works on Iced Earth?
Oh yea..he came to a Priest show, him and Jon..Matt is a great guy and a real good singer.

13-You did an excellent job on the song Mr.Crowley with Yngwie J. Malmsteen. Can you make us know about this work? How did this idea appear and how did it go?
Bob Kulick called and asked if I wanted to do it..it was fun. I tried to make it a little different.

14-Do you plan to make a concert album and DVD like "Alive In Athens"? For Example a concert album about just the "Something Wicked" story?
I think so, like I said, Iced Earth is Jon's baby, he calls the shots, but I would love to.

15-In the ending, do you have a message for your Turkish Fans?
Love you guy's, can't wait to get there...Get You Iced Earth now and Keep it Heavy!

The Sexiest Metalhead

It's odd reading this now that he isn't in the band.
