Your Favorite Iced Earth Album?

What's your favorite Iced Earth album? I love Horror Show. And SWTWC comes in at a close second.

I love Horror Show due to the content of the album. I'm a fan of horror and the music is just fantastic. Matt Barlow's vocals are just breath taking.

Yours?

im not sure. to be honest i like em all. my favorite is my iced earth mix cd
The Wicked One

when they come up with a complete box set ill let u know...XD

If you look at iced earth albums you must consider all the changes the band went trough . Starting with the self tittle album with great story telling . Burnt Offerings offered the introduction to Matt with complex solos and epic story telling for example Dante's Inferno, Last December, Diary and Burnt Offerings. Then we get to Dark Saga with dark lyrics and fast pace music and best vocals done by Matt to date . This album changed the feel of the bands music . Now we get to SWTWC that has my favorite song on it Disciples of the lie. But for my money Dark Saga is the best album with songs like Violate, The Hunter, The Last Laugh and The Suffering at the end .
Dante

hmm it's really hard... I like 'em all.
But i guess i choose Horror Show since it's a combination of history and horror Wink
Sandra - Dark Saga -

That's a tough question...
I'd have to say Burnt Offerings or SWTWC, but I also love The Dark Saga..  Confused

I think it's a good album. It's not as bad as most people say it is.

The Gettysburg Trilogy is awesome (I'd love to hear Barlow on it), but the other songs somewhat lacks...

I like Decleration Day, When the Eagle Cries, The Reckoning, and Red Baron Blue Max. The rest are just kind of bland...

Valley Forge is not "bland" in the least bit... it is arguably the best song on the album. And what about Greenface?

Ok Valley Forge and Greenface are two really good songs, but i still don't think those songs tops other IE songs like; Damien, Order Of The Rose, Watching Over Me and Dante's Inferno.

I'm not a big fan of Valley Forge. Green Face has grown on me a bit. Attila isn't bad either.
Black_Sheep

Am I in the minority among fans? Something Wicked is My FAVE, but I can't get into Horror Show. Just don't like these concepts and the music that goes with them.

Is there a thread to compare IE albums sales? Curious what fans have thought over the years.
the one true seeker

Today it would have to be Burnt offerings.

But that will most likely change. I'm sure that when The Crucible of Man is released that will be my favorite. at least for a while.

My favourite Iced Earth release is The Dark Saga : I know all songs of this fuckin' CD ... They are juste sublime Very Happy the bad point of this record is just the second song : I Die For You ...
I like very well Night Of The Stormrider too Smile
Black_Sheep

Hard question. Probably Something Wicked.. and Alive In Athens.

Uuuuh ! Alive in Athens is the best album, it's sure because there are the very best song in live Very Happy but the best studio release ... It's a very hard question ...
Tainted Innocence

the main reason i choose horror show is the fact it is the album that got me into IE
DantesInferno

Hard to choose between Burnt Offerings/Dark Saga/SWTWC
ragnew

At the moment my favorite album would be Framing Armageddon, with Something Wicked This Way Comes a close second.

Though once The Crucible of Man is released, I'm sure that'll be easily jumping to the top spot! I cannot wait for that to be released!

The Wicked One

Stormrider

The Wicked One wrote:

And a studio version of "Curse The Sky" to have a complete Barlow version of the first album!
The Sexiest Metalhead

Tainted Innocence wrote:

Why is that?
Tainted Innocence

i hate downloading music because of poor quality,
like i downloaded one song and the volume would change throughout the song.

I understand, it happens sometime time.
abominae1

My favorite without question is SWTWC.  Hopefully The Crucible of Man will change that. A close second is Horror Show , then Burnt Offerings.

my bro downloaded a few COF albums for me and they didn't turn out too too bad...
Black_Sheep

Many people here (me included) seem to like "Horror Show" very much. But overall speaking, from what i have heard many people consider it as the worst IE album  Shocked
Tainted Innocence

it was the least passionate but must complex and dark album,
jon even said it lacked passion.

Not even close, the worst is TGB.Horror Show rules. I wish they would play more songs live off of it.
Black_Sheep

Iced Earth has never released a bad album if you ask me... Every album is great. So it's very hard to say which album is their best and which is the worst.
