I shall post some of my favorite riffs.

This is from Judas Priest's "Persecution" off the album "Nostradamus". Gotta be one of my favorite solos of all time.

The first one doesn't work, and the second one has no sound. Can you confirm this?


BTW, looks like no one else really likes this topic, but I'll keep posting in it, damn it! My next one is actually a rift from The Trooper, but done by one of my favorite game metal bands.

I'm from Central Texas, deep in the country, and I've always said Rifts, not Riffs (even though I do say "Mounain, rather than Mountain", which falls under the "T" section). Not sure why, but just how I was raised, plus my accent is really heavy too, but it has gone down up here in PA, but it's still there.

I only asked cause I never heard it referred to as rifts before. Kinda like a guitar pic is sometimes called a plectrum, never heard a pic called that til last year, I still say pics though. Anyway it's cool.

You ain't gonna believe it, but some of my music buddies in Texas say plec, instead of pic. I guess it's an Austin thing, since that is where they mainly play and where I went to go to concerts.
