For the curious who don't have the money or don't think they should buy this set, or just haven't got it yet, here is some pics of the box, all sides...
Front side demon
Front side angel
Side view light
Side view dark
Top
Bottom (I added the sticker to the bottom, the sticker was on the cellephane wrap, I wanted to keep it so I carefully pulled it off the wrap and stuck on the bottom for safe keeping, didn't want to cover up any art)
Open view with my Cert of Authenticity

I wonder why, since the first three albums are indeed the remaster ones from 2001 (the Dark Genesis box set, and eventually as their own releases), they chose to use the covers they did. The original German/Japanese cover of Iced Earth, the original US cover of Night Of The Stormrider and the original cover for Burnt Offerings rather than using the remaster covers? No big deal really, just curious, also curious as to why the ORIGINAL recordings of first three albums are not included. That makes it NOT a complete recorded history of IE from Century Media. Considering some of the changes in the songs from originals to remasters. But oh well. _________________ "Once again we have laid another loved one to rest. According to the ad for the set in the May 08 issue of Metal Maniacs (see scan below) the whole set is remixed and remastered. Makes me wonder what was remixed and remastered. I mean they already did that with Dark Genesis, so the first three albums are those remixes. I guess the rest of the albums are remixed remastered. But I really need to listen closely to find out any differences.
One more thing, I know Jon doesn't endorse this set, but can some one tell my why he doesn't? If anyone knows. Cause they still don't have it on the official discography page.

Apparently Jon is one of the few good guys, in other words not a sell out. I constantly read stuff about him saying not to buy certain IE albums but rather buy other ones and what not. Still I wonder if they get any money from Century Media's sales of this set. It is their music, just cause they aint on the label anymore, I would assume would not discontinue their profits of future sales. But I don't know the buisness. I totally love this set basically for it's design and artwork, which is almost the only reason I got it (besides for my collection and the rare Hellspawn tracks, even though I already downloaded said tracks before). The lp style discs were the kicker in me finally getting the set.
I guess he endorsed Dark Genesis since he was still with the label then. But I still wonder why he doesn't endorse the set. Being on a different label is not reason enough to. But maybe like I said, he's not a sell out and he views this set as a sell out and or rip off to fans (I don't. I think it's a great set for fans). Oh well. _________________ "Once again we have laid another loved one to rest. As we fight the grief in our hearts, we must realize that the fate of death is inevitable. um when it comes to record companies they can own your soul. no joke.
meaning that box set has no duty to have any profit go to Shaffer or the band Iced Earth.
The songs are written by Jon and Iced Earth but ownership only applies for the sake of creative license.
If some1 had a song that sounded like stormrider to almost a T, then Iced Earth would have the right to call foul. As would the record lable that produced it. _________________
