Yea lots of folks that hate COF hate them not for their awesome music, most like that, but hate them for Dani's vocals. I like his vocals. I also like King Diamond when he sings sinister and not like he's being raked in the nuts, but I still listen to him even during those parts. My top three favorite bands ever are Cradle Of Filth, Iced Earth and KISS. I know there are folks here who don't like KISS either. I grew up on them they were my number one fav band til I found Iced Earth, than they were number two. Then I found COF, dropping IE and KISS to two and three. But oh well. Who says we all have to like each others faves anyway or always have the same band as our favorite.

i like kiss and all but i grew up on other songs since my parents viewed Kiss to be overplayed and overrated.
so basically i got into Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Queen, Bad Company, Alice Cooper, Blue Oyster Cult, Sabbath, Deep Purple & Rod Argent's projects when i was a kid.
i never really gave Kiss a chance until after I heard the Iced Earth covers.
i gave a respectful listen only to find out how much the original songs and their other work is hit n miss for me.
Kiss' God of Thunder: it lacks balls, Id rather listen to IE or Entomed (which surprisingly sound alike)
same goes with Creatures of the Night.
Detroit Rock City is epic but then i found the live IE version here and that kicked Kiss' ass too.
so far Strutter and Deuce are the only songs that make me concert interested fan.

Hate to break the news to you, but Dani does indeed sing normal alot. He has a real deep voice for that. He even sings normally on their cover of the Misfits (or is it Samhain?) Halloween II song. I know lots of folks don't like Dani's screaming vocals (I do, I also like the other vocal styles he has too) and that's cool, but really when folks think all he does is scream (same with King Diamond, I know he just doesn't have the girly high vocals all the time), they haven't heard hardly any COF. But still don't get me wrong, I am not trying to trash your opinion of COF, you don't like them that's cool. Just correcting a misconception on his vocals.

My brother loves COF. Has all of thier albums. I hear them almost everyday. Dani cannot sing "normal." I mean, for gods sake, sounds like a dying animal 24/7. I just don't understand how people think he has good vocals. At least King Daimond has interesting songs... it's not all "I Rape a Bloody Angel While Slaughtering Jesus" stuff...

You obviously haven't heard his "normal" vocals. Listen to their cover of Halloween II, listen to Beneath The Howling Stars at 3:50 into the song, where he starts with "Tongue unto tongue", that is in no way bad singing (let me take that back, some folks can consider it bad singing) nor is it screaming or growling or anything, just a deep voice vocal. He has lots of songs with parts like that. Again I am not telling you that your hating his vocals is wrong, but I am telling you you are completely wrong when saying he can't do "normal" vocals.
Either you just don't pay attention to your brothers playing the songs or you are just ignorant to the mans various vocal styles. No offense meant with the ignorant thing, it's just obviously you haven't heard all of Dani's vocals if you have than you would know he does indeed have a normal singing voice in alot of his songs. Whether his "normal" vocals are good or bad is opinion only, so that doesn't matter, but you can't deny they are "normal" vocals, if you bother to listen to them.
Sorry not trying to sound like an ass, but it is just obvious you haven't got a clue to his singing. Again if you don't like his vocals no big deal, you don't have too. Simple. I am not trying to win you over to likeing him, or his vocals, just correcting a misconception once again. If his vocals do suck as is your opinion of them, that is fine, but like I said you can't deny that he does of "normal" vocals in his songs. Well, I don't find any of his vocals normal, so... all to thier own.
My brother keeps telling me there sellouts... and I agree because there even worse than they use to be...

You obviously have a different definition of "normal". When I say normal I mean clean singing, no growling, or screaming or anything like that. So by that definition he does have normal vocals in lots of their songs. I am curious though as to what you define "normal' vocals as. Me I don't consider good or bad singing to be normal or not. But you may, I don't know. And there would be nothing wrong with that. All my replies are not meant to be "you are wrong, your opinion sucks" type replies, though they may come off as such, if they do I am sorry. As far as I know we are just having different opinions and not having a "cyber argument". At least I don't want this to turn into something like that if you know what I mean.
Also what is your definition of "sell out"? To me sell out is someone who changes their music drastically to make money, not cause they want to try something different. COF have changed their music (but are going back to the heavy for the next album), but to experiment with different styles, not for the sake of just selling more albums. I mean all bands want to sell albums of course, but to change to a crappy style of music that just totally sucks and is way different than your original style just for money not for change, is sell out to me, Metallica being the prime example. But that is my definition and opinion.
