I can never come up with a reason to hate Horror Show... the album is amazing. It's my favorite Iced Earth record. Mabye something happened during the recording or tour we don't know about. _________________ Fuck the Patriots
I'm too lazy to find any interviews as backup, but Jon has stated over the past year or so that he felt Horror Show was forced. By choosing to write songs about monsters and movies, he painted himself into a corner and wasn't able to freely write what he wanted.
He then did so by writing and releasing The Glorious Burden.

Yeah? I didn't know that. Although I would have thought that Jon would want to do an album based on those characters. You've just got to look at the Purgatory demos, one was entitled Horror Show, and a few tracks have the same name as tracks from the 2001 Horror Show. I mean, I know they're not the same tracks but they have the same principal I'm sure. That's just what I would have thought though, you're most probably right if you heard it in an interview.
