i dont mind the songs so much as the time both band played.an hour and 15 minutes is far too short.i realize its a co-headlining tour but common...at least an hour and a half.just chuck in stormrider and come what may Laughing

I don't think it's so bad!?!
You got some old stuff, some new stuff, some fast, some slow. And you got Watching Over Me
The only thing I'm missing is Travel In Stygian.

Well, maybe it would not be so bad, if this set hadnīt been played for what feels like an eternity.

Letīs be honest: Iced Earth plays the same set over and over again for quite some time now. There doesnīt seem to be any change at all.
This band has so many great songs, but still they allways do the same tunes live. I mean, I really like songs like Burning Times, My Own Savior, Vengeance Is Mine, Violate etc., but they mustīve been played a million times now.

This set really needs some changes, since Iced Earth plays very similar (sometimes even close to identical) sets on every tour since Glorious Burden.

not really man
Theyve included the Gettysburg Part II and III
I Walk Alone
Framing Armageddon songs

before that they had just retired To Curse the Sky and Path that I Choose.

The only real guaranteed constant is to play the song Iced Earth at the end.

and melencholy, burning times, watching over me, and my own savior

and vengeance is mine, violate, declaration day and dracula.
That makes nine songs, that didnīt change for years now.

Of course they allways included stuff from the new records, but the classics Iced Earth plays stay the same. You just need to compare setlists from the last tours since 2004. Of course they are not the same, but similar, even the order in which the songs are played stays more or less the same.

What they did on the European festivals last year was a good step forward, when they included A Question Of Heaven, Dark Saga, Travel In Stygian, The Coming Curse and Pure Evil. Unfortunately just two of this songs stayed in the setlist (or only one for the running EU tour).

I meant as in the only song thats been played live since the creation of IE was that song. 5 years of the same setlist  or similar set list is common.

I was kinda hoping the Paris setlist would've been like that due to some exception but that turned out to be wishful thinking...

Tilburg setlist from last night:

01. In Sacred Flames
02. Behold The Wicked Child
03. Invasion
04. Motivation of Man
05. Setian Massacre
06. Burning Times
07. Declaration Day
08. Vengeance Is Mine
09. Violate
10. Pure Evil
11. Watching Over Me
12. Ten Thousand Strong
13. Dracula
14. Melancholy (Holy Martyr)
15. My Own Saviour
----------------
16. Iced Earth

I'm getting really disappointed at this tour... First there's no gig in Finland then the VIP packages get cancelled without so much as a word from Jon as to why that happened. Just getting rid of all the VIP package related news on the website isn't exactly the right way to handle something like that.

And now THIS setlist? I mean first of all, where the hell is Stormrider?! Why do Melancholy AND Watching Over Me when the set is already as short as it is? No Coming Curse, no Travel In Stygian, no Question Of Heaven etc...  Sad

Don't get me wrong I don't mean to bitch about it, I'm glad I'll get to see them at all and I'm sure I'll have a fuckin' great time but this isn't what we've gotten used to getting from IE over here in Europe. Especially after the nearly three hour long gigs on the Horror Show tour...

You're totally all right ! There is no epic song ... Where is the fucking Angel Holocaust ? It's sad ... And I'd pay a lot just to see A Question Of Heaven ... I'm sure that I'll have a great time too, but I'm sure they could do bether

Is it only me or has Barlow trained this song alot!
Just listen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-W8JkEVL9g
He has clearly improved that intro (and outro) scream, and the whole song sounds great!

How could you guys even tell he was doing it? I heard it for like a second then bam, instruments just take over the noise stuff.

Find anyone in the metal scene that can hold it as long as Ripper ! (Halford doesn't count since he's old now but could probably do it before) Wink
